About

A research desk that sits beside your book

Built for family offices and small wealth teams who already have a portfolio system and still swivel into a terminal to ask what the market is doing.

Our mission

Family offices and small wealth teams are well served on books and records. They are badly served on the question they ask every morning: what changed, and does it touch us? The answer usually costs thousands a seat a year, and most of what it buys goes unread.

The Market Terminal is the research desk for that question, at a transparent seat price. It does not hold your positions and does not try to. It sits beside the system that does, and answers the market half: the macro backdrop, factor and sector regimes, allocator filings, earnings, and the thematic sleeves an investment committee actually argues about.

The discipline we hold ourselves to is provenance. Every live figure carries the moment it was true, the source that published it, and the unit it is in — on screen, in the CSV, and on the printed page. A number that reaches an investment committee should still be arguable six weeks later.

What we hold ourselves to

Four commitments, each one a thing you can check on the desk rather than a value we assert about ourselves.

Beside the book

We do not hold your positions and will not ask you to move them. The portfolio tracker is a research view that sits next to your books-and-records system, not a replacement for it.

Provenance

Every live figure carries its as-of, its source and its unit — on screen, in the CSV export and on the printed page. A number should still be arguable six weeks after the meeting it was quoted in.

Threshold signal

The Market Intelligence Bulletin goes out after the US close on a weekday, and only when a signal crosses its threshold — not on a schedule that needs filling. A quiet market sends nothing: we would rather not email you than manufacture a reason to.

Seat honesty

Quotes are delayed and we say so rather than calling them live. A Desk seat is $25 a month, from 2 seats; beyond Desk, Enterprise is priced with us directly. Anything not built or not yet live is labelled Soon on the plans page and is not part of what you buy today.

One figure, three destinations

The same number on the screen, in the export and in the paper you take to the committee — carrying its as-of, its source and its unit every time. The figure below is the latest 10-year Treasury yield on FRED, read from the terminal when you open this page; the formats are the ones the terminal actually emits.
