Design partner pilot

Run your desk on it for 90 days, free

For family offices and small wealth teams willing to use The Market Terminal every week and tell us, plainly, what works and what does not. You get the Desk plan for up to 5 seats; we get the feedback that decides what we build next.

What partners get

The same Desk plan anyone can buy on the plans page, with nothing to pay for 90 days.

The Desk plan, free

Everything the plans page lists under Desk, for 90 days from the day you claim the pilot: shared watchlists with viewer and editor roles, CSV exports, seat admin, and the Desk research. No card is asked for.

Seats for the team

Up to 5 seats. Whoever claims the pilot owns the desk and invites colleagues by email from their Account page.

A say in what gets built

What you tell us sets the order of the work. Anything marked Soon on the plans page is not part of the pilot until it ships, and we will not describe it as if it had.

A clean ending

When the pilot ends, every seat goes back to the free Analyst plan unless you subscribe to Desk. Nothing renews or charges by itself. Your watchlists and the desk’s shared lists are kept, and the shared lists open again if the desk subscribes.

What we ask

Four things, for the length of the pilot.

Use it every week

At least one person on the desk uses the terminal in each week of the pilot, for the work you would do anyway: the morning read, a coverage list, a name before a committee meeting.

A 20-minute call every 2 weeks

What you used, what you did not, and what you still do somewhere else. One person from the desk is enough.

Let us count the use

For pilot seats only, we record the days each seat uses the terminal and the exports it makes, against the account, so weekly use is a number rather than an impression. See what we record.

An honest answer at the end

Would you pay for it, for how many seats, and what would have to change first. “No” is a useful answer.

Who it is for

A good fit

  • A single- or multi-family office, a registered investment adviser, or a wealth team inside a bank or broker
  • Two to 5 people who would use it
  • Books and records already kept elsewhere: The Market Terminal sits beside your portfolio system and does not hold your positions
  • Questions about US markets, macro and SEC filings, which is where the data is deepest

Not a fit, yet

  • A trading desk: every quote here is delayed, up to about 15 minutes depending on the venue, and there is no order entry
  • More than 10 seats: that is an Enterprise conversation, at hello@themarketterminal.com
  • A team that cannot spare the calls: the pilot is the feedback

How it works

  1. Apply belowAbout five minutes. We read every application and reply by email.
  2. A short callTwenty minutes on how your desk works today, so we can tell you honestly whether the pilot will help.
  3. Claim the pilotIf it is a fit, you get a link by email. Open it signed in, or create a free account first; the 90 days start when you claim it. The link works for 30 days.
  4. Invite your colleaguesFrom the Desk section of your Account page, up to the pilot’s seats.
  5. DecideNear the end we talk about what you would pay for. Subscribe to keep the desk, or let it lapse to the free plan.

What we record

While an account sits on a pilot desk, your browser sends one note a day that the account used the terminal, and our server records each export the account makes. Both are stored against the account, with the desk they belong to, and are what we count weekly use from. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track sends no daily note, and our server records no export from a request that carries either signal. Colleagues you invite to the desk are told this when they join. Nobody outside a pilot desk is recorded this way.

What you write in the application is kept for as long as the program needs it: an application that does not become a pilot is deleted 12 months after the decision, and a pilot’s application 24 months after the pilot ends. The Privacy Policy has the rest.

Apply

Use your work email: it is where the invitation goes.

A sentence or two: the question your desk asks every morning, the work that ends up in a committee pack.

The pilot is free and carries no obligation to subscribe. We take a small number of partners at a time and may not be able to offer everyone a place. Beta. Not investment advice.
